Advisory Council on Family Care: Caring for Your Work and Family

Who We Are: The ACFC is a joint CWA and Verizon committee bargained-for especially to meet the family and daily-life needs of the CWA membership in the mid-Atlantic region. The Council includes members from many sectors of union and management all dedicated to helping you and your family thrive.

The ACFC is responsible for researching, developing, evaluating, funding, monitoring, deploying and communicating programs and initiatives in the following areas:

  • Child and elder care resource and referral services
  • Community development programs to increase and expand family care services and educational programs in the communities where employees reside or work
  • Family care education programs for employees and their families
  • Surveys, studies and reports involving the needs of employees and the changing of family care
  • Programs which will be available to employees outside of work time, to assist them in dealing with stress


What We Do for Members:
Since 1986, the ACFC has been serving members and their families with programs to help with the real-life demands of today’s working households
